Updating the Firmware
Updating the firmware is a simple process that adds functionality and fixes bugs that may have been found.
There are two (2) ways of updating the firmware in our devices
Update Option 1 (Preferred Method)
Option 1 uses the web based administration area and is the preferred method for preforming updates
- Download the latest version of the firmware from the main support page for the version in question (Firmware Download) and extract the files into a temporary folder
- Connect to the administrative section of the device you wish to update using a web browser
- Near the bottom of the page in the Information section click on the Update Firmware button
- A modal window will open asking for the new firmware's .bin file, locate the temporary folder created in step ## and select the new .bin file in that folder then click continue
- Be sure to read all warnings and follow all onscreen directions, failure to do so may leave the device in an unknown state. If this happens then the device will require a factory reset via Update Option 2
Update Option 2 (Factory Reset Method)
Option 2 requires the use of a direct USB connection to the device and is updated by special software, you can download the firmware loader here
